Innovations in Art in the Digital Age
Standing up for artists against the threat of AI art...
Marshall has been visual artist almost since the time he could draw with crayons. Over time he moved into photography and then video, then computer art, always viewing whatever he was using to realize his creativity as a tool through which to accomplish it. He reached the epitome of that in 2011 whn he invented the Programable Television Synthesizer or P.TVsynth. Now, artists everywhere are beginniung to feel threatened by a new technology - Artificai Intelligence or AI but Marshall, as beung a technlogist himself, is not afraid of it - not because he sees no threat to human artists but because he knows how to FIGHT IT and intends to do so for artists who are some of the most likely victims of AI use. Already, AI art is taking jobs from artists and they are beginning to feel marginalized as less talented artists rely on AI to do the work for them.

Developments...

Freezing Video Art
Inventing the P.TVsynth
Starting out as a film and video artist for the impact of the moving image, Marshall learned, after meeting and making friends with New York video artist, Laurence Gartel of the value of the video still or freeze frame as the intended purpose as opposed to just being an after thought. Gartel showed Marshall the difference and Marshall took note and never forgot.

Marshall eventually began combining images from video, photography, and computer graphics plus visual effects created as part of science experiements and then his work exploded and he ended up with being featured in gallery shows and eventually having a one man show at the Norka Futon in the Short North of Columbus, OH.

In 2011 Marshall invented the Programmable TV Synthesizer which is the most powerful video art engine in the world. Updated with what he calls his "Marshall Box, it rivals AI except that it cannot produce drawings on its own, it enables the user o create an infinite array of art without limits in terms of style, type, etc.

ND NFT Art
In response to Non Fungible Tokens connected to the block chain, Marshalli invented the ND NFT (Non Digitech Nonfungible Token) which took some of the knowledge that he developed having done a fintech project for Derrick Hodge of Chainosys that functioned outside of block chain and made it look "prinitive". ND NFTs are watermarked and branded art pieces that are surrounded by a QR-Code frame which has the authentication information embeded. The entire arrangement prevents counterfeiting yet allows display of the art which is then highly investable.

In addition, in this age of the rising threat of AI copyright infringement, the watermarking and QR-Code forces the AI to circumvent those featires in order th use the image. That is then proof of theft, not just copyright infringement, on par with breaking into a building to steal a painting. As Derrock Hodges said, ""I'd been following his writings and work online, and there's no doubt, the man's a genius""
